about us

Welcome To GREEN CHEMISTRY NETWORK CENTRE

It was established under the recommendation of World Leaders in Green Chemistry headed by Professor Paul Anastas (known as father of Green Chemistry) with the following aims and objectives:

Aims and objectives of GCNC

Build a Network for exchange of expertise, discussion and knowledge between industrialists and academicians and between chemists and engineers with interests and expertise relevant to Green Chemistry.
Prepare and disseminate the educational materials on Green Chemistry for school, college and university levels, with the simultaneous design of laboratory experiments for these levels as well.
Design trainings not just to expose the chemists to the concepts, principles and methodologies of Green Chemistry but also to empower them to bring this new knowledge back to their institution or industries
Promoting research by taking up Green Chemistry Research Projects from Industry and Government agencies.
GCNC received prestigious IUPAC CHEMRAWN ACS GCI-DEN Grant Award for Green Chemistry Networking in India.
FIFTEEN YEARS OF GREEN CHEMISTRY NETWORKING IN INDIA
Paul Anastas

Anastas is known widely as the "Father of Green Chemistry" for his ground-breaking work on the design and manufacture of chemicals that are non-hazardous and environmentally benign.
He is also a champion of sustainability science and innovation for environmental protection. Anastas has brought worldwide attention to the power of molecular design and help for the environment.
He has published scores of articles as well as ten books, including his seminal work with co-author John Warner,Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice.

John C Warner

John C. Warner (born October 25, 1962) is an American chemist, educator, and entrepreneur, best known as one of the founders of the field of Green Chemistry. Warner worked in industry for nearly a decade as a researcher at Polaroid Corporation, before moving to academia where he worked in various positions at University of Massachusetts Boston and Lowell.
Warner is Co-founder, President, and Chief Technology Officer at the Warner-Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry, as well as Co-Founder and President of Beyond Benign.

PROF. R. K. SHARMA

Prof. R. K. Sharma is the Coordinator of Green Chemistry Network Centre, established under the recommendation of World Leaders of Green Chemistry headed by Professor Paul Anastas. He is a fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the Honorary Secretary of Royal Society of Chemistry London (North India Section)
